Learning a little Spanish in the US was definitely useful for when I went to Spain, but it didn’t prepare me for the way they say “S’s” or how the language changes from east to west. It’s all Spanish, but there’s also technically like 4 different languages and dialects. Some blends with their Portuguese neighbors.

Castilian is such a beautiful language but you can’t take that accent seriously. Every single show that’s translated into Spanish by Spanish people sounds a bit ridiculous. Mexicans are the best at translating.
