    1. I remember when I worked at Amazon they tried to get me to go in during a blizzard and they said they were firing anyone who didn’t come. It was a bluff I didn’t come told HR the roads were too icey to drive and kept my job.

A warehouse did that to me when some bad storm was coming through Atlanta. Only ended up being a tropical storm, but still… trees down… flooded roads. Power went out about an hour into the day, and they couldn’t go home. While I sat at home and had an outage for a little bit. Did more work than any of them could… and didn’t have to drive an hour+ risking my life.

I mean you can find another job. Best I can tell, you can’t find another life.

Not in the South but one time a bad storm was rolling thru threatening to down power lines and flood streets etc…boss asked if I was coming in the day after. I said if the roads are clear sure, but I’m not dodging power lines or anything to get here.
