In order to generate truly random numbers, Cloudflare uses this camera feed of LavaRand, a wall of lava lamps. The flow of “lava” in the lamps is used to generate truly random bits of data, acting as a source of true randomness to supplement the pseudorandomness that most computers are limited to.

This wall of lava lamps is actually used in production as a backup source of entropy, if their primary sources of entropy are compromised by an attack or something else.
