    1. What’s really interesting is I remember having to recite this in school with the words “under God” right before indivisible, and being told that it’s how it’s supposed to be when I scoffed at it in 5th grade…

    2. A bit of brainwashing going on there. What sort of state requires its subjects to verbally affirm their loyalty each day/week/etc?

    3. *
      One nation Underdog omitted.

Even in the early 1900s, they understood the importance of the separation of church and state. Especially in schools

    4. I only repeat the original, removing the one nation under God part.

There is no mention of God anywhere in the Constitution.

Was this at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Le Claire, Iowa? I think I took a very similar picture last week.

Y’all must not go to church, Jesus Christ founded America in 1492. He fought in the revolutionary war and signed the declaration. He was actually the one that shot Abraham Lincoln post civil war. Pick up a book idiots

That is fascinating to see that “Under God” is more recent than I thought. Very informative.

    8. One nation, under the almighty dollar, completely divisible, with liberty and justice to all that can afford it.

    9. i pledge allegiance to the underworld one nation under dog there of which i stand alone

No mention of God, that was added in the 1950s during the Cold War to contrast the United States with the Soviet Union, which was popularly portrayed to be anti-religion.

    11. I’m not aware of the “god” of currency. Is it one of the more than 3,000 known gods or one of the lesser gods?

    12. This is the pledge I recite when I feel the need to. When “under God” comes up I just wait it out.

That’s awesome. I always pledge this way because it’s a nation of all religions and culture.
