    1. Weird to think I deployed in a war that meets the age rule for r/HistoryMemes….but yeah, we shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

American army/government are Assholes, They Killed 100m Natives more than afghanistan and Iraq’s kills combined in their entire history

    3. Not only that, but I’m convinced that US facial hair trends were changed by the mountain beardy boys. It’s relatively popular, particularly amongst rural men, veterans, and hipsters in craft breweries, to have these large bushy beards. I believe that US special forces doing integrated missions in the Middle East had those big beards to fit in with the locals. A few propaganda photos that circulated around of those same spec ops guys looking badass all kitted out had men stateside go “oh shit those spec ops guys look badass with the sick beards”, emulated them, and here we are.

The really crazy thing is that they’ve done this at least twice, and once to the second largest power as well.

I don’t know enough about ancient history to work out which of the other empires they best counted as the most powerful at the time.

    5. The last person to successfully occupy a Middle East country by force was Genghis Khan.

If genocide is off the menu you’re always going to fail.
