Elon Musk is paying people to sign up for his Trump PAC. Vote buying is illegal.

      Theoretically could I create 10 contacts and do this over and over to get money from him? I mean Seymour Butts & IC Urial Pead have very open minds.

    2. This is a disgrace. Musk is offering $47 million to buy the election, only one thousandth of what he spent to buy Twitter.

      Ugh. Shady tactic but ultimately legal. He is not paying you to register to vote, he is also not paying you to sign the petition, he is paying you to refer people who do sign the petition. This would be a “pay-per-signature” ballot gatherer. Only 9 states ban it and even then it would be for either state initiatives and/or actual election measures. This petition is just people saying they agree with something and carries no real meaning – it’s not really tied to a ballot initiative. The encouraging people to register to vote is the purpose of the organization while the petition and referral process is marketing.

      And it’s working because people are flocking to the site.

    4. Given his mothers recent message and the whole family’s history and apartheid South Africa, I think its safe to assume anti egalitarianism runs in the family

      Cool to see that rich people can just break the law with no consequences. Cool cool cool

      To investigate voting fraud the two agencies are a good starting point.

      Federal Agencies:

      **Federal Election Commission (FEC):**Toll-Free: **1-800-424-9530** The FEC oversees campaign finance and would investigate issues involving illegal financial activities like vote buying.

      1. **Department of Justice (DOJ) – Public Integrity Section:**
      * Main DOJ Line: **1-202-514-2000**
      * You can report election-related crimes, including vote buying, to the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section.

      here’s how this skirts the cited rule (read down, there are other rules)

      he’s not paying the registrant. He’s offering to pay for referrals. And suppose he simply decides not to pay.

      But there are a number of other federal codes. [FEC | SSF | Conducting voter registration and GOTV drives](https://www.fec.gov/help-candidates-and-committees/making-disbursements-ssf-or-connected-organization/conducting-voter-registration-and-get-out-the-vote-drives-corporation-labor-organization/)

      >The corporation or labor organization must not make any express advocacy communications as part of the voter registration or GOTV drive; “express advocacy: Unambiguously advocating the election or defeat of a clearly identified federal candidate”

      hmmmm….. I’d like to say that this tweet being on his timeline one day after certain other comments…. makes them related, but he will argue otherwise.

      >The voter registration drive must not be directed primarily to individuals previously, currently or intending to register with the political party favored by the corporation or labor organization;

      (clearly directed primarily at trump voters)

      >Individuals conducting the drive must not be paid on the basis of the number of individuals registered or transported who support one or more particular candidate or political party.

      (although they may be paid on the basis of the number of voters registered overall, they may not be paid per registrant for trump voters – this one is indirect from [2] above, he never makes this explicit condition)
