It also plays the tune when you don’t go the speed limit. Just with a different tempo and pitch. It’s basically gramophone technology.

To be fair Hungary has had an insane amount of famous Mathematicians over the years so maybe it’s just hard 🤔

Those are pretty cool. You can find those in a handful of countries around the world. Here in the US we have 3 or 4 musical highways. I think it’s a fun idea.

There’s one of these in Georgia as well. It plays Swanee… how I love you” (1919 AL Jolson song). I think there’s some in Florida as well that pay Disney musical songs.

Guess you really have to *tune* your driving skills here! Or you can have a free *tune* up of your car 🎶🚗

They did this in Florida. People complained because they could hear it all day and night. Miles away. So while it was nice for the people driving through it wasn’t nice for the locals.

In California there was a road like that but they fucked it up and it sounded weird. They paved it and made it again in a different place but they didn’t fix it so it’s still all fucked.
now Hungary…do a road with “driving home for christmas”
or Rihanna..”shut up and drive”

They had one of those in the Netherlands to keep drivers from speeding through a little town. They had to remove it because the folks living by that road were being driven insane by having to hear that same song over and over and over again

Your Mechanic: “Congrats, you’re right hand drive wheels have worn far quicker. I dunno why though, can you think of anything”
You, humming the song the road plays: “Uh, no, not that I can think of”

In Japan, they are called Melody Roads, and there are several videos of them.

Hungarian here. Locals hate it as they have to listen to the tune on repeat all day long.

We have roads here in Detroit aht also play music but it’s just very heavy percussion followed by the scraping of auto parts along the highways. Not as catchy.
