A kid I knew growing up did the same to another kid’s house. His parents were often absent and one time when food got low he broke into (well, the door was unlocked but you get the idea) another kid’s house, made himself a sandwich, and then vacuumed, dusted, tidied up, and left a note. He obviously got caught but didn’t get into trouble (we were like 10 at the time). We all kinda made sure we had extra food to share with him after.
