It’s called “screenPLAY”. I would never want to watch a film with kids and drunk adults playing on a large playground right next to me the whole time, but I love the idea of sending all the people who are loud or who want to have their phones out the whole time to a separate screening room.
Then again, maybe if the movie sucked I wouldn’t feel like I’d wasted my time, since at least I could play

I accidentally got a ticket for one of these to watch an animated movie. It felt really awkward to be there with my date, but honestly – the play area was great! All the kids tired themselves out right before the movie started, then were completely quiet during the movie. It was a real surprise. I’ve never been back to one, but I could see this being really helpful if you’re a parent with a kid who can’t sit through a movie well.
