I liked it but I knew about the 5 rating on IMDb and 40% on rotten tomatoes beforehand.
I also think I probably knew what to expect. I thought it would play more like a drama just like Joker 1, but it was more of a drama than that. My hope was that it would be a bit more action and develop his villainous character, as I imagine most people wanted.

Hot take: I think Joker 2 was good. The musical aspect really just put an extra dimension to his insanity and delusions. Just like one, it really does not have much to do with the original comics or universe, but is more of a reimagined universe. Seen in the scope of the first movie, I think it was a very appropriate sequel
