I WISH Palestine was the only hill I could die on but as a black American woman, I have mountains I gotta die on first

    1. I agree with you.

I’d love a selfish single-issue voter tell me why I should also be a selfish single-issue voter (but for me, instead of them). And note: I’m a white, upper-middle class suburban straight man who has voted Democrat all my life…so far.

Harris says we should have a ceasefire.

Trump says to just bomb them all.

I get that there are undecideds that say actions speak louder than words, but their words reflect what their actions are going to be.

    3. The American voter has four option in November; Harris, Trump, 3rd party, or abstain.

If you truly *care* about Palestine, ask yourself: which of these four options results in the most good for the people of Gaza? IMO there is only one choice that even remotely has a chance of improving things for them.

To those who say “I won’t hold my nose and vote for Harris”, I ask – is your sense of self-righteousness worth more to you than the safety and dignity of the children in Gaza? More than the rights of American women to control their bodies? When Trump wins and enacts Project 2025, will your queer friends forgive you?

I voted 3rd party in 2016 and have never forgiven myself. I valued my “integrity” over the rights and safety of my friends.

Yeah why would voters want to go back to the way things were in the Middle East when he was president last time? Do they not remember?

    5. This is exactly true.

Jarod wants to build luxury apartments on the coast where Palestine is “in the way”.

    6. Lies.

Trump was doing quite well in terms of keeping peace in the Middle East. Abraham Accord?

    7. If you’re suggesting that you should withhold criticism for democrats because republicans are worse, and that criticism is “genocide is bad and we should stop supporting it,” you’ve probably become the political cult we’ve spent the last decade warning everyone about. I’m voting for Harris, but people that subscribe to this cult behavior start to spiral the moment there’s valid criticism. Who we’re voting for seems to matter much less than “please don’t criticize our candidate.”

    8. Single issue leftie voters man… they could really cost use an election. Use your brains guys

    9. I feel this does not get enough attention, but a contributing factor to the chaos in the Middle East is you had nepo baby Jared Kusher, who has no foreign policy experience, negotiating the Abraham Accords. I guarantee he only cared about serving his own self interest and the $2B he received from the Saudi Fund was likely part of that negotiation.

It will only be worse in a Trump 2nd term, because he will surround himself with sycophants and yes men, with no one in the room telling him no, that is a bad idea or no, that is illegal. He will also be emboldened that he is above the law based off the Supreme Court ruling. It will be the end of our republic and American democracy.

    10. The fact that Netanyahu goes out of his way to personally visit Trump every time he swings by DC or the UN tells you all you need to know.

    11. Idk what being a black American woman has to do with Israel funding.

Besides that point, I’m also wondering if people understand how important it is to fund Israel. They are literally the only Western ally in the entirety of the Middle East.

Should they be bombing/invading their neighbors? No, it’s appalling. The issue is nuanced, though. They are going after hezbollah infrastructure in Southern Lebanon in a preemptive way. It’s a proxy war with Iran.

I’m all for reeling them in, but we don’t know all the facts about the targets they’re going after, so to say “as x, I am opposed to funding Israel” is a bit naive to me.

Either way, funding to Israel isn’t going anywhere. One side advocates for a ceasefire (Harris) and one won’t give a shit about Gaza/Lebanon.

    12. I’d expect that little will change in regard to Palestine regardless of who wins in November. So that means voter in the US has to look at other metrics when deciding who to vote for. In a better world the US wouldn’t have a shitty corporate duopoly to choose from, but it is where they are, and voting for harm reduction via the dems is as close to a good choice as they have now.

      Congress controls this.

They lump in aid for everything else with isreal arms so the president is mostly obligated to approve it.

    14. As a Palestinian: I appreciate the sentiment and love, but you guys (minorities in the US) have so many problems as is – adding another Trump presidency to the pile is not helping anyone.

Yes, the Dems are snakes and make little difference to Palestine and the middle east as a whole, but that’s not something you’ll be fixing with this election.

Take care of your mountains as you called them. One step at a time.
