Being prepared earlier than usual didn’t seem to help Russia much in the end though. Probably helped France more.

Immediately loses nearly 100,000 soldiers, has a general kill himself, and loses part of Poland over the span of a month.

This meme is silly. Russia mobilizing quicker than anticipated did not meaningfully impact the French-facing portion of the Schlieffen Plan, as the plan called for the capitulation of France and shift of troops to the East, not the other way around. More tellingly, nothing in the East stopped France needing the miracle at the Marne to stop the fall of Paris.

The Eastern Front is the uncontestable successful front for Germany, and would have gone even quicker if Austria had a semblance of organizational competence (and German planners had seen fit to include Austrian High Command in on their plans).

The collapse of the Eastern Front freed up the manpower for the Kaiserslacht, the last major German offensive that rocked the French military onto its heels in the midst of spreading mutinees and refusals to engage. While it was a last gasp before the US entered into the war in earnest, there are many plausible worlds where the French buckle under the pressure.
