We’ve gotten to the point where unions now need sub unions to save them from their union bosses.

I wonder what kind of illegal shit you gotta do to own a home like this. No one gets this rich from a paycheck.

    3. Isn’t this the same union boss seen happily shaking hands with disgraced former POTUS Donnie right before telling his union to strike some 30-odd days before an election?

      Why yes, yes it is.

In the interview I saw yesterday, this guy struck me more as a mobster trying to blackmail, than anything else. This only reinforces the mobster vibe.

Honestly, how many “heads” of any organization lives equal to or lower than it’s paying membership???

I hope those port workers get everything they’re negotiating for. This post is weak.

I’m ok with that as long as he’s fighting hard for union rights and pay. Let him live well if he’s doing good work.

    8. Is he a Trump supporter? Ya darn tootin!

Is the timing for the strike suspicious and his explanation of fallout being perfectly aligned with the election? *maybe*

Do longshoremen deserve a raise? **YES**

No one is going to change their vote for politicians over this in the next month. Period.

Fuck this guy, but we should all support the striking workers by *checks notes* buying all the toilet paper that is manufactured and delivered domestically?

I know guy who worked as a longshoreman. It is literally a mob or gangster job. You can only get the job if you are ” in the family”. You can’t get the job if you don’t a have a referral from someone in the job. You would be waiting in line forever for the this job without someone’s referral. He’s retired now without a care in the world in NJ.

Starting salary for these guys isn’t $63K like what’s posted online, it is maybe double with all the overtime. There’s a fucking huge amount of corruption and nepotism at these ports and most people would never think about it. Now that automated machines are coming after their jobs, they are afraid of the castle crumbling.

    10. Left punching leads to union punching. How about we talk about the executives he negotiates with and their homes?

    11. What is the point of that tweet?

      Ok, he’s very well off.

He’s also pushing for working people to make more.

I don’t see an issue here.

    12. And a huge Drump supporter who coincidentally hatches a plan to disrupt the economy just before an election.

    13. I’m pro collective bargaining but this is New Jersey and reeks of organized crime taking over the ILA again. Genovese got the docks probably. His son is the executive VP . . . I’m sure they were all “elected” *wink wink* But again I’m not against workers rights.

    14. Any of that money from one of the many trump tributaries. BC we all need to care about that.

And how much do the companies make? He is demanding better security for his employees from multi billionaires. He should be fairly compensated!

The funny thing is if the people who are saying shit like this truly believed it then they would still be on the unions side because the corporations, and the people heading them, they are fighting make this wealth look like peanuts. But then again, shit like this is never about actually meaning it huh?

    17. The guy who owns that house authorized a strike so that his coworkers (not employees) can feed themselves. A lot of union busting propaganda right here folks clear as sunshine

    18. steelmanfallacy on

Also, a Trump supporter and looking to get a tax cut so he doesn’t pay as much taxes.

    19. The longshoremen are denying a 50% pay increase because they demand 77%. The shelves are already bare. If anyone believes that this is anything other than political against Kamala, then sing out. I’m curious what you think.

    20. Profound-Madman on

Way to spread the message your corporate overlords want! Go look up the houses of the ceos of the shipping companies who actually employ these workers while adding zero value to the process themselves and see what actually is being discussed instead of reacting to lights and sounds like a fuckin child

    21. Wait but actually if I’m understanding correctly, they want to have a 77% increase on their pay and have the average dock worker make more than high ranking attorneys. Am I misunderstanding it, or are their demands really that out of touch with reality?

    22. His employees don’t need shit. These port workers make a good amount of money and the jobs are generational.
