Unfortunate. I really recommend to people leaving their cycle outside like that to have a lock on their back wheel! Makes it easy when there is no pole to attach my bike too, I just grab the key and do the thing.
(Don’t leave it completely unattended, that prevents it from rolling but not from just lifting it and walking away)

Did you buy this bike used? Cuz this could be a case of somebody recognizing they’re stolen bike and “taken it back” Not accusing you of buying stolen goods willingly but a LOT of the bike shops in CPH sell stolen/found/looted whatever bikes.

If it was an expensive bike, I would rather find an appropriate place even if its a bit of a walk away and lock it properly. I know that defeats the point when you just have to pop in somewhere quick, but still. I have a gorgeous Pink Gazelle thats my pride and joy, which I double lock and don’t leave overnight anywhere. I have a 2nd shitty bike for that.
Anyway, I’m sorry about your bike.. that really sucks. But better be mire cautions in future, Europe is no longer full of high trust societies like back in the day.

In Oslo almost everyone has some sort of an insurance covering bike thievery. This makes the police give absolutely zero fucks and encourages bike thieveries. Is that the case in Copenhagen?
