    1. “You know, right before my father died, the Third Man spoke to him.”

“Oh yeah? What did he say?”

“He said, ‘Why the FUCK did you decide to climb a mountain?'”

Hence why Jack Whites label is called “Third Man Records”. He experienced the syndrome while climbing Mt. Everest and it changed his life.

I kind of just made that up, but it sounds pretty amazing.

    5. This guy also appears to cavers. He tells them “You know you didn’t have to do this, right?”

There’s a really good story in the novel World War Z that features this… damn they should make that into a movie or better a tv show.

Near-death experiences of all types are the brain failing for any number of reasons. Nothing to see here.

So basically no difference from the people who say God has talked them through difficult situations or helped them when they thought they were on their deathbed

    10. It’s amazing what the human mind can do. My father died several years ago and I was incredibly distraught about it. One day when I was basically on the edge of a complete breakdown, I heard my father’s voice say something to me that he definitely would have said if he was there. Even though I knew with absolute certainty that my mind had manufactured it, that was really the beginning of my healing process. Thanks brain!
