My wife and I decided to get away from our ran down city. We crossed the bridge over to the wealthy city. It’s not even a mile away. But I realize exactly how bad we have it in my city.
This is located in the small historic downtown area of WestLinn Oregon. They offer free Sparkling water to fill your bottles.
In Oregon City, just across the Willamette, we get people bathing in our street faucets.
I’m definitely sending a very disappointed sounding email to Tony Konkol (my city’s manager).
The people of Oregon Shitty should be allowed to bath in sparkling water too!
lol

I think all they need is a CO2 tank to convert “still” water into soda water, or as it’s fancier name – Sparkling Water.
Isn’t Bob’s Red Mill store in the next town over from here ?

I used to live there. It’s an absolutely beautiful city. I miss the beauty of the city but not the property taxes. My property taxes were insane. The city never listened to the voters as to how we wanted to spend the money. They completely ruined Willamette when they renovated it. Between taking out all the trees, reverse back in parking, and the uneven walking path with the bike path it’s a complete mess.

The “Still Water” option makes me think of the first piece of advice I got when camping as a child.

I don’t really understand drinking sparkling water and the weird “higher-class” implications around it.

Wait, I thought all water was “sparkling”. What is sparkling water? How do they get “still” water out? Is “still water” distilled and sparkling fresh? I kind of thought water was water.

I plumbed up a sparkling tap at my kitchen sink! I brew beer, so I had most of the necessary equipment laying around. I drink so much more water now!

Is it above a natural spring with cavernous limestone deposits? Manitou Springs just outside Colorado Springs has 5-6 sparkling water fountains with slightly different mineral content/tastes to them and are just tapped directly into the springs below. It’s not imported/shipped in or anything, just a low expense cool way to demonstrate the uniqueness of geography and geology

Manitou Springs in Colorado has a bunch of effervescent water fountains around town that are naturally carbonated from the rock underground, it’s pretty neat
