    1. The NCAA statement was basically. “LOL. We tried to tell you”. but the players did deserve to make money from their own names, image, and likeness. They also deserve to be paid by the schools but there may need to be a salary cap or something in place.

    2. NIL is a scam.

      Adults in the room bullied college kids into taking the short end of the stick. Even if a players union was formed, no way they could have reliable leadership. Not unless there’s people out there who would genuinely be acting in the best interest of these kids. They’re just too exploitable and I fear that they’re too young to negotiate for themselves.

      It’s rough. College sports as we knew it is gone forever. There’s no amateurism in this anymore (for the major sports). Too much money to go back now too.

      The NCAA is fucked. Has been fucked. Will continue to be fucked. (And good riddance honestly). I just hope what comes next actually helps these kids not only find financial success for their athleticism, but to also just get legit professional, personal, and academic development to be decent human beings.
