Her career was expansive, diverse and extraordinary. There is a lovely doco filmed with all the UK Dames of the stage: Joan Plowright, Dame Maggie, Dame Judy, and Eileen Atkins: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BrzZ_v8C8O0

Her roles will forever remind us that age is just a number when you have talent like that

When I was a kid, I thought she was 90 years old in “Hook,” she was in her 50s when they filmed that!

Gotta show love for the only actress in Titanic that was actually on the ship.

Farewell to one of the funniest, most elegant old broads to have ever lived. And she would not have objected to being so described.

The older people may remember her from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. I think that was her first big role. Other than Royal Shakespeare stuff. She was also in Room With a View, when she was making her later career. But she had a ton of early stuff. She was working around the same time and in the same line as Glenda Jackson and Helen Mirren.
