I thought it was just gonna be releasing bees in an area and seeing where they swarm around, not keeping them trapped in the battery haha

So they hand train every set of bees, to only put them to work for a couple of days and then release them to where they came from? For ONE detector?

Seems a tiny bit impractical, expensive and implausible.

    3. Considering how police are filmed mistreating canines I can imagine “ ooops I forgot the bees in the detector all weekend.”

    4. This seems… terrrible? I mean its undeniably interesting, but we don’t need to be doing this to other living creatures.

    5. This is stupid. Just how many detectors with different sets of bees for different explosives do you need? This is just a waste of resources and harmful to the bees. “the best part” in this video is just wishful thinking without any thought out into it.

    6. So, just wondering. We keep talking about how we’re losing bees globally, and It’s going to affect food production drastically if we don’t get it fixed. (There’s even a Black Mirror about it.) It seems like these bees have another job they could be doing… right?

How about leaving the bees alone, because this is cruel, and bees already have a major vital role and purpose of keeping us all alive with the work they do with pollination etc.

    8. I prefer my bomb identifiers to be overweight, inbred bootlicking TSA agents melting into a seat 2 inches from a computer monitor flagging my 2 ounces of water.

So what..you pick up a suspected IED and dump a beehive around it and somehow have Superman vision to see if they’re sticking out their tongue? I don’t get how this is supposed to practically work. Or it was just a test to show Bees can be trained?
