I especially love things like these where it shows how things were made, that extra layer of knowledge. Although I doubt they were nekked while doing most of this.

[1674×1080] Specially constructed Army shoe for David M. Dotson, 37th Tennessee Regiment, CSA, who lost his foot in the Battle of Franklin. The shoe was specifically designed to accommodate him. Circa 1864.
