If you find this interesting look up the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn in Germany. Built in ~1901~ as of 2016 it was still being used

Cool train, but I feel they missed an opportunity to use the top of the train tracks for other stuff. You could build a road on it, it parks and solar panels. Using the elevated tracks for more than one use would probably help with overall costs and be better for society.
