That’s right, poor people always spend at least $8,185 on their outfits! This was spotted on one of those dumb entrepreneur Instagram accounts.

I’ve worked selling rich people clothes. They LOOK like they’re those prices, but they’re all over 400 dollars at least

    2. “Rich men use most of their money to get richer. Poor men use most of their money to look richer.” I’m not saying it’s true but that’s what they mean.

    3. Bought brand new my boots cost 35$, my pants cost 13$, and my shirt cost 7$, oh and my iphone is a 7S which was given to me as a hand-me-down from my mother, why am I not rich yet?

    4. My dream is that someday people will understand what metaphors mean.

But alas, today is not that day.

    5. This is silly, but I do know so many people who extend themselves beyond their means for fashion. Even my stepdaughter who struggles to keep gas in her tank, walks around in sneakers that sometimes cost more than my entire wardrobe.

She has lived rent free for 7 years as an adult and has maybe $3-$4,000 in shoes in “equity” (beyond her car which we as a family paid 50% down for). She buys them as an investment, wears them to flex, then they depreciate in value and rinse and repeat.

It’s not just shoes. Her and her friends are invested in the “culture” and dress the part. She has friends crashing on peoples couches who will wear $400-$600+ outfits. To each their own, but they’re now in the back half of their 20s and running out of bridges.

    6. Mark Zuckerberg wears plain tee shirts that cost $400 each. Steve Jobs plain black turtleneck cost $270…

    7. I definitely look rich then. As far as anyone knows I have only one shirt because they’re all the same color.

Lol this is not true at all. Rich people will spend more to appear normal.

You think Elmo (Elon) is spending $5 on a T?

    9. I’m confused that the rich guy’s penis cost $70. Shouldn’t that be free? Is it wearing a fancier sweater than his torso?

    10. Yeah and don’t forget the 2000$ Rolex and the fact that those clothes (on the right obvs) look like those prices but because it’s “for cool people(tm)” the prices are quintupled.

Chances are the clothes on the left could have been bought by a discount or are used. Not everything that “looks cheap/polished” is worth what it looks like.

    11. Apparently there are only two outfits for men: jacket with cargo pants, and Steve.

And why do only “poor” people have phones?

Is this British? The periods in large numbers give it away. Glad poor blaming is global and not just Americans obsessed with avocado toast I guess
