I have almost no provable work history. The few places that I worked at that are still open have so much turn over, nobody working now either wouldn’t have been there when I was or they’ve gone through so many people that don’t remember me.

I’ve worked at a few places that closed. I also have old positions where the entire team was let go. It feels weird having those on my resume, but nobody’s ever questioned me about them.

They can ask for your W2’s and often do if employment can’t otherwise be verified.
