Nah, the redistribution of wealth – or perhaps I should say the destruction of what the rich possessed, thereby making everyone equal in poverty – was easy enough. What they fucked up was the rebuilding. The Soviet Union was not a democracy so it slipped into same patterns of incompetence, corruption, and brutality that characterized the tsar’s regime.
