In 1771 Gustav III awaiting his coronation and being the lover of pomp and art he was decided that all of age princes and princeses should have their own crown. Three were commisioned, two for his younger brothers and for his sister. A further four were made until 1902 when the last one was made for prince Wilhelm.

These crowns do not have spesific owners other than the fact that the three princeses crowns are usually used by well princeses though an exception was made in 2012 for the baptism of princess Estelle as she is second in line to the throne Oscar II crown was used it having the vase in the middle which siginfies the heir.
