These two pictures were sent by my father’s aunt, Alla, who fled Estonia before the Soviet occupation after world war 2. I am unsure if I have met her, but I have some vague memories of some family gatherings in the 90s when I was a small kid. Alla still kept in touch with her sister throughout the years. She sent letters and pictures, in spite of the difficult process of sending things behind the iron curtain.
My grandmother passed away in the first half of the 90s. Unsure of her sister’s date of passing, but she should be buried in the states.
