Never know. Might be a Kirkland situation and it’s from the same distillery but under a different name.

For anyone who’s a fan of Don Julio or tequila in general …

The grandson of Don Julio produces Lalo, a blanco tequila with zero additives. It’s around the same price point as DJ blanco.

The Don Julio brand was sold to Diageo, and as happens with family brands the quality and ingredients changed. Tastes good to me, especially reposado and anejo, but the aged ones have significant additives to achieve the look and taste.

Always drink what you like, even Don Harry. But if you have a chance to get a sip of additive free, it’s interesting as hell to taste the actual agave.

Sorry for being a total tequila nerd this early in the day. I didn’t have any other old white dude stuff to be doing this morning.

Lol calm down you guys. Somebody bought an entire barrel from Don Julio and put a custom label on it. You can see on there it’s a private cask. The person who selected the cask is probably named Harry and thought it would be funny. Nobody is taking Don Julios branding or trying to gentrify tequila.
