    1. I once worked as a cashier and we had a senior discount on Wednesday. Like they would actually be upset if I didn’t apply it when they qualified so I had to balance asking them if it applied or just give it to them. Usually for older ladies I would ask for the same reason as this post. One day a lady came to check out and I was absolutely sure that it applied, but asked anyway to try and give a compliment. Not only was she insulted because she was actually too young, but her husband just left her for a younger woman…found out when she cried to my manager that was also a friend of the lady. Wasn’t in trouble, but I felt like I was walking through a minefield every Wednesday after that.

    2. I worked at a Pharmacy and did that, she said she was born way back when and I said, “you look far too young, I might have to check your ID”, and she got pissed and threw her ID at me.

I’ve done something similar occasionally. A mother and a daughter come in, and in the course of talking to them I feign surprise, claiming that I thought they were sisters.

    4. My friend did that once—he was just trying to be nice, and the old lady accused him of trying to not give her the senior discount

    5. That’s very sweet hahah. I like out of the blue complimenting people. They’ll blush real quick and got that wide smile all over for a bit while

Whenever I ask for ID’s at work from seniors so they can get a senior discount they get extremely angry

    7. We went to the Chillán hot springs some years ago with family, my mom amongst them. The person at the entry saw inside the car and said: 4 adults, a senior, for charching entry tickets. She was so glad/mad. Glad because we saved money. Mad because she was still a couple years to be officially a senior here.

We chileans are buenos pal weveo so I still give her shit for that jokinly lol
