      Yes, but this only Scraches the surface, difrent speeds can mean difrent things, Like a fast up:“ya want to fight“ or a fast down:“you can do this“

    2. So, post transition… should I stop doing this?
      It is still instinctual (the nod down respectful greeting in particular, it’s what my muscle memory thinks is polite!) but I think it might be confusing.

      How do I politely acknowledge people as a woman?

      The downward nod is also accompanied by a thin “smile” that looks a lot like this 😐

      I understood it to be that the up nod was for people you know and the down nod for strangers. With the up nod, you feel safe exposing your neck because it is someone you know. The down nod is more cautious and protective because you don’t know the person.

      I do a lot of distance running and always nod up when I see another runner. It’s like a mutual acknowledgment of pain, lol (but I still love it)
