Years ago the Norwegian women’s volleyball team was fined hundreds of Euro per player because the team was protesting wearing uncomfortable and revealing bikinis. It would not surprise me if there are rules where athletes must wear revealing clothing so that people can see a butt, and that makes me sad. Exceptions per sport, like Gymnastics where the form is part of the function. But in beach volleyball the bikini is ineffective at protecting the rather sensitive thighs and crotch from sand.
