    1. Has this happened before anywhere else?

I cant imagine there are zero opportunities left by a complete void in a marketplace. Someone or some other model must be able to squeeze a dollar from an opportunity like this.

Insurance co’s. don’t have the luxury of ignoring climate change.

    3. Insurance companies are not leaving Florida because of climate change, they’re leaving because Florida insurance law is broken.

In Florida companies can offer services like roof replacement and bill your insurance directly as emergency repairs. This incentivizes companies to max out insurance claims so they can offer attractive prices to their customers. The insurance companies are expressly forbidden from denying emergency claims. This makes it uneconomic to sell insurance in Florida.

Climate change has virtually nothing to do with the current problem.

    4. Every time I read a post starting with “we are thinking of moving to Florida…..” I cringe. I understand there are still good Floridians who have been there since before the state went to shit but why would anyone want to move there now?

The government wants to be a dictatorial theocracy, the schools are going downhill rapidly, LGBTQ+ communities and migrant communities are being terrorized, people have sea water coming up through their lawns, trump flags and banners are everywhere, the summers are getting even hotter, and Florida Man runs amuck.

I used to love that state. I travelled there every year. It’s not the same and I miss it.
