It is beyond time to change that filter.

Just go to the website shown on the handle. Filters are white.
That is either bacterial growth, or the water is basically sewage (which again, bacterial growth).

These are common in Thailand also.
The brown color is not mold, it is rust from the water pipe joints and valves.

These are very cheap devices that allege to increase water pressure. They come in different colours. I have one that has brown balls.
