Oedipus, in Greek mythology, was the king of Thebes who killed his father and married his mother without knowing they were his parents. After he found out his mother hanged herself, and he blinded himself by stabbing himself in the eyes because he didn’t have courage to face them in the afterlife, after doing so he was exiled from Thebes along with his daughter. And spent the rest of his days wandering from city to city.
