During the Second Word War the antisemitic sentiment was very strong in countries like Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Croatia and these countries had a big contribution in the final solution. In Romania and Hungary alone the killings and deportations against the jews made in tens of thousands. In northern Transilvania for example, in the city of Oradea there is a Street called “The street of deported Jews” which is named like that to honour the death of more than 20 000 Jewish citizens from Oradea that were deported or sent to ghetos by the Hungarian army who occupied northern Transilvania. The situation in Romania wasn’t any better. After the lost of northern Transilvania, Besarabia and Cadrilater the press and the government showed the jews as the back shep and the reason Romania lost those territories. In Odessa, after the city was besieged and officer was killed by bomb planted in one of the city’s administrative building, marshall Ion Antonescu ordered the execution of 200 Jews for every Romanian killed and 100 for every Romanian wounded in that building.

If I recall it correctly, in Romania most of it stopped after the King Michael’s Coup in 1944.
